JAMMU, Jan 14: The ‘Jammu Terriers’ celebrated the 10th Raising Day with great zeal and enthusiasm in the unit, here today.
The Raising Day celebrations commenced with a Special ‘Sainik Sammelan’ addressed by Col Ajay Sharma, the Commanding Officer 157 Inf Bn (TA) (Home & Hearth) Sikh. While addressing the ‘Sainik Sammelan’, Col Sharma commended all ranks of the unit for their utmost dedication to duty. He commended the way all men had worked with great determination, in keeping with the high traditions of their Battalion
He also expressed confidence that they would continue to strive hard, to achieve ever higher levels of excellence in all spheres of activity. The special Sainik Sammelan culminated with the singing of National Song “Vande Mataram” by all ranks of the unit.
The other highlights of the raising day celebrations included a `Pagal Gymkhana’ during the day and a `Special Barakhana’ in the evening, followed by a colourful and entertaining variety programme.
