JAMMU, June 21: Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K unit has claimed that Jammu division is suffering from step-motherly treatment as far as tourist places are concerned.
Shiv Sena J&K chief, Manish Sahni told reporters that tourist places of Jammu division like Patnitop are no less than any other but they are suffering a neglect regarding development, maintenance and promotion.
“The condition of road from Jammu-Srinagar Highway to Patnitop is very pathetic for long and there is no sign of maintenance in the rest houses of J&K Tourism Department,” he claimed adding: “The expired fire extinguishers are hung in wooden huts to avoid any untoward incident at Patnitop.”
Sahni said that economy of J&K is largely dependent on tourism industry.
He demanded that Lieutenant Governor of J&K and the Tourism Department should develop the tourist places of Jammu division along with those of Kashmir and should improve facilities at these places.
