Treatment of lower limb fractures discussed

JAMMU, Mar 8: The 8th Annual Jammu Trauma Orthopaedic meet was organized by Jammu Trauma Society in Association with Jammu and Kashmir Orthopaedic Association (JKOA).
Theme of the day long conference was ‘how to treat fractures of the lower limb-recent trends’. Various faculty for the conference were invited including Prof. Ramesh Sen, President of the Indian Orthopaedic Association, a well known surgeon in pelvic fracture management from Chandigarh, Prof. Vivek Trikha, Chair Academic committee of Indian Orthopaedic Association from AIIMS Trauma Centre, Delhi.
Prof. Jatin Talwar from VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi, Prof. Altaf Ahmad Kawoosa from Bones and Joint Hospital, Srinagar, Dr. Shabir Dar from SKIMS, Srinagar, Dr. Khalid from GMC Doda and Dr. Haseeb from Srinagar.
Chief guest for the inauguration ceremony was Dr Shashi Soodan Sharma (Principal GMC Jammu). She appreciated the efforts of the Department of Orthopaedics in conducting these annual meetings
The Organising committee comprised of Prof Sanjeev Gupta, HoD Orthopaedics as Chairperson, Prof.Abdul Ghani as convener and Dr. Mohammad Farooq Bhat as Organising Secretary.
Faculty that participated in the conference were Prof. Rajesh Gupta, HoD Orthopaedics ASCOMS Hospital, Dr. Lovi Padha, Dr. Manish Singh,Dr Tahir Afzal, Dr Bias Dev, Dr Anoop Kumar, Dr Farid Hussain, Dr Neeraj Mahajan Dr. Sumit Charak, Dr. Shafiq Hackla, Dr. Rahul Mahajan and Dr. Sumit Pal.
