Jammu West Assembly Movement protests against budget

JAMMU, Mar 9: A protest rally was held on the Ambphalla –Janipur High Court road by the activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement against the State budget.
The demonstrators took out a procession from Sarwal -Rehari which culminated at New Plots. The protestors alleged that the basic demands and urgent needs were neglected in the budget.
The protestors said that funds have not been allocated in the budget to meet these immediate demands. The demonstration was led by Sunil Dimple president Jammu West Assembly Movement. While addressing the protestors, he said the budget presented by Finance Minister is incomplete as it has ignored the basic needs of the people.
He demanded that VAT and Sales Tax on LPG Gas, petrol, diesel, kerosene oil be exempted in the budget. There is no provision in the budget to raise the subsidy on LPG Gas and increase the quota of flour, rice, sugar, kerosene oil to the people in the state, he added.
