JAMMU, Oct 14: Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Jammu, Bharat Bhushan Bodhi today asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party Govt at the Centre stands committed to equitable development across the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, especially in the far flung and remote areas.
He said that after having remained neglected for about seven decades, the people of Jammu are now witnessing unprecedented development across the region.
The DDC Chairman stated this during a function in which he kick started the work of black topping of the internal road stretch of Mohalla Bhagat and Ramdasia at Chak Bhalwal Panchayat Seri Panditaan in the presence of Kuldeep Raj, Member Block Development Council (BDC) and Sarpanch Nasib Singh.
This project of blacktopping of the aforesaid road is estimated to be completed at a cost of Rs 28.80 lakh, which will not only benefit the residents of Mohalla Bhagat and Mohalla Ramdasia, but also the residents of nearby areas as well as other commuters traversing these roads regularly.
While addressing the gathering, the DDC Chairman said that the blacktopping of the internal roads in the area was a pending demand of the locals of this area and after its completion people will heave a sigh of relief.
Asserting that J&K has been witnessing unprecedented development in every sector under the BJP Govt at the Centre led by PM Narendra Modi, Bharat Bhushan said that earlier people of Jammu region were subjected to discrimination due to which Jammu remained neglected in terms of development but now there is equitable development that stands proved by the development works in every nook and corner of the Union Territory.
Bharat Bhushan Bodhi reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Govt’s commitment to the overall development of all the areas. He said that under the incumbent BJP Govt at the Centre and the Union Territory Administration led by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, great strides are being taken in development in J&K thus transforming the entire landscape and scenario of this Union Territory. He said that there are more projects in pipeline for the area and the same shall be taken up in a phased manner.
Meanwhile, the DDC Chairman also interacted with the locals of the area to take stock of their problems and issues. After giving them a patient hearing, he assured them of getting all their genuine issues resolved at the earliest.
