JAMMU, Oct 18: In preparation for National Police Day on October 21, the Jammu Zone has launched a series of welfare activities to honour the bravery and sacrifices of its police personnel.
These initiatives, conducted across all ten districts, were focused on supporting the families of martyrs and fostering stronger community engagement.
As part of the initiatives, the district nodal officers have been actively visiting the families of fallen heroes, offering solidarity and ensuring their needs are met.
These visits aim to express the police’s gratitude and to assure the families of continued support. Special efforts are also being made to address any concerns or grievances raised by the families.
In addition, several community-based initiatives have also been organized.
Public meetings and awareness drives are being held at schools and in local communities to educate citizens, especially the youth, about the role and sacrifices of police personnel.
Patriotic talks are being conducted to instil respect for police martyrs and highlight the significance of National Police Day.
To further honour the fallen heroes, police officers across the zone are organizing cleanliness drives at memorial sites, underscoring the importance of maintaining these spaces with dignity and respect.
The activities also include visits to local schools, where students are encouraged to participate in events that emphasize the value of police service.
One notable event a motorbike rally was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police in Samba District.
Led by SSP Samba, the rally passed through the town and returned to the District Police Headquarters, with participation from senior officers and a large number of youth.
The event aimed to raise awareness about National Police Day and honor the sacrifices made by police personnel.
The Jammu Zone will also host a formal observance at the District Police Lines on October 21, where families of martyrs will be invited to attend a special event in remembrance of the fallen heroes.
In a statement, Anand Jain, the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Jammu, has reiterated the police’s commitment to the welfare of martyr families and emphasized the importance of such events in fostering unity, patriotism and stronger community-police relations.
“The ongoing welfare activities reflect Jammu Zone Police’s unwavering dedication to its personnel and their families, underscoring its commitment to service and sacrifice,” said the ADGP Jammu.
