Jammu’s 1st PSMA-PET Scan started in American Oncology Institute at ASCOMS

JAMMU, June 16: The first state-of-the-art PSMA – PET Scan for Prostate Cancer Imaging is now in American Oncology Institute at Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences, Jammu. This will help patient fight prostate cancer through early detection and diagnosis and provide them with a better treatment experience at an affordable cost.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men and one of the leading causes of cancer death. Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA) is highly expressed in prostate cancer and its expression increases with tumour aggressiveness, metastatic disease, and disease recurrence.
