Jammu’s aspiring film maker shines at IFFI

JAMMU, Nov 24: Indu Shekhar, hailing from Jammu city, was shortlisted for “75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow” programme at 52nd International Film Festival Of India (IFFI), Goa, being organised on behalf of the Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, from 20th to 28th November 2021.
Out of 1000 applications received across India, only 75 candidates got selected by jury members, including eminent personalities from Bollywood such as Prasoon Joshi, Shankar Mahadevan, Ketan Mehta, Manoj Bajpayee, Resul Pookuty, etc.
The selection was made on the basis of portfolio. Selected candidates were felicitated by Anurag Thakur , Minister of Information and Broadcasting, along with Master Classes conducted by renowned personalities such as Madhur Bhandarkar, Hrithik Roshan, Siddharth Anand, Raj & Dk and a special dinner invitation for 75 selected candidates.
Shekhar, a Graduate in Bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass communication from Chandigarh University and a Post Graduate in “Masters in Journalism and Mass communication” from Central University of Jammu, is the only candidate shortlisted from Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
He has attended workshops of cinematographing, organised by Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune in 2018. One of his photoshoot was published in ‘CHIIZ’ magazine of photography of US. In 2019 Media Festival, organised by Chandigarh University, one of his short film ‘Short Free’ was awarded. In 2018, the same short film was also nominated in 4th edition of Kashmir World Film Festival, TFT Theatre festival in Chandigarh and First off Film maker session 2019, U.K.
