Crown back in India after 21 yrs; father says daughters are blessings

JAMMU, Dec 18: Jammu’s Sargam Kaushal has been crowned the Mrs World 2022 in the international beauty pageant for married women, held at Las Vegas in USA.
Representing India, Sargam Kaushal trumped contestants from 63 countries to bring the prestigious title back to her country after 21 years.
Mrs World 2021 Shaylyn Ford of the US presented the crow to Sargam at a ceremony held at Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino this morning at 6.30 hrs (IST). Mrs Polnesia was named the first runner-up, followed by Mrs Canada as the second runner-up.
“We’ve got the crown back after 21-22 years. I’m so excited. Love you India, love you world,” the newly-crowned Miss World said in a video, which she shared while describing how elated she was to win the title.
Daughter of Meena Kaushal and G S Kaushal (a retired Chief Manager, Bank of India), Sargam hails from Bahu Fort area in Jammu city and she did her schooling from Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar Jammu. She graduated from Women College, Gandhi Nagar Jammu and thereafter did her Masters in English Literature from Jammu University and B.Ed from Government B.Ed College Jammu.
A teacher by profession, content writer, model and painter, the 31-year old Sargam is married to Jammu guy Aditya Manohar Sharma, a Lieutenant Commander in Indian Navy.
Talking to the Excelsior, father of Mrs World, G S Kaushal said that it’s a proud moment for entire country as Sargam won the title for nation. He said that since childhood Sargam was an outstanding child and always excelled in whatever she had done so far.
“God helps those who help themselves,” said the proud father, adding that daughters are blessing and the entire family was feeling short of words to express the emotions on the achievement of Sargam.
Pertinent to mention that Mrs World is the most prominent beauty pageant for married women. Earlier, India had won the Mrs World title only once, in 2001 with Aditi Govitrikar bagging the coveted crown.
Earlier, Sargam Kaushal had won the Mrs India World 2022 beauty contest, held at Mumbai in June this year and thus qualified for representing the country in the Mrs World contest.
For the final round in Mrs World beauty pageant, Sargam wore a sleek and elegant pink sleeveless gown studded with sequins. Although she burst out into tears upon realizing her victory, the beauty queen made sure to take her victory lap while wearing her dazzling new crown.
The Mrs India pageant announced the winner on its official Instagram page today. “The long wait is over, it’s after 21 years we have the CROWN back!” read the post.
Meanwhile, people throng to congratulate the parents of Sargam Kaushal, after her spectacular achievement and recognition at the international level. Several people took to social media congratulating Sargam for not only winning the crown but also make Jammu and the entire country proud with hard work and dedication.
“It is a matter of pride for us that the daughter of Jammu has brought laurels to J&K and the entire country and we wish her good luck for the future also,” said a local of Bahu Fort area.
