JAMMU, Dec 15: Questioning the performance of BJP in the Jammu-West constituency during the past six years, National Conference (NC) candidate, Dharamveer Singh Jamwal today described their desperate attempts to polarise the situation as admission of imminent defeat.
“Smelling defeat, BJP, Congress and PDP have resorted to rhetoric and gimmicks to hoodwink public opinion”, Jamwal said during door-to-door campaign across the constituency.
He visited Janipur Colony, Lakkad Mandi, Sultanpura and Gurah Bhakshi Nagar and held interactive sessions with the people.
Jamwal accused the opponents of inciting passions and said the era of sloganeering and exploitation of sentiments was over. “People want peace, development and an atmosphere wherein their children will become able to meet this competitive world with much more confidence”, he said adding that the Omar led Government has succeeded in good measure to provide it during the past over six years.
He said the people who have tasted the fruit of development cannot get swayed by emotive slogans or myopic politics of hatred and intolerance.
Jamwal castigated BJP for its divisive role and said this is detrimental to the interests of the people. He took dig at “Ache Din’ slogan of the party, saying the people have witnessed for themselves how flat these have fallen with prices rising and utility services remaining beyond the reach of poor.
He said the people of Jammu-West want to come out of the nightmarish experience of the past six years when their chosen representative from BJP remained almost untraceable.
He assured the people that they will always find him amid them and striving for development and betterment of the constituency.
