JAMMU, Nov 25: National Conference candidate for Jammu West, Dharamvir Singh Jamwal today said focussed attention would be paid towards the faster development of the constituency with an avowed objective of meeting the requirements of the people.
“Jammu West needs lot of infrastructural development in utility sector and therefore we have to pool all the resources to have these in place in a specific time frame”, Mr Jamwal said in his interaction with the electors during door to door campaign.
He said development can not be overtaken by emotive slogans or rhetoric which the parties like BJP, Congress and PDP were indulging in. National Conference, he said, believes in enhancing the quality of life of the people which calls for single-minded approach towards implementation of various projects and welfare schemes.
Mr Jamwal said that National Conference will not allow its agenda of development, progress and peace to be sabotaged by the reactionary forces by inciting passions and generating ill will between different segments of society. “NC believes in equality and social justice where every segment of the society has opportunity to grow and prosper”, he said and referred to the path-breaking initiatives taken over the years in this regard.
He also cautioned the people against the divisive tactics of vested interests who only show up before them during elections and for rest of the time remain in oblivion and engaged in their personal pursuits.
The National Conference candidate sought support of the people, saying this will further strengthen the hands of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who has undertaken a massive developmental plan for inclusive and holistic development of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
During his door-to-door campaign, Mr Jamwal visited Subash Nagar and Upper Shiv Nagar. He was accompanied by Ashok Singh Manhas, Vicky Jamwal and others.
