JAMMU, Oct 26: As part of the ongoing Jan Abhiyan under B2V4, Thakur Sher Singh, CEO Patnitop Development Authority visited Udhampur and Ramban districts alongwith officials from PDA and Tourism Department.
During the visit, the officials visited Gandhtop, Basantgarh, Dudu of Udhampur district, and Pogal, Ukral of Ramban district, where they held meetings and interacted with DDC Chairperson(s), DDC members, PRIs, stakeholders and Civil Society members. Roadmap for promotion and development of these offbeat destinations was discussed in detail with all PRIs and local stakeholders present on the occasion.
CEO PDA informed all the participants of the Jan Abhiyan about Homestay Policy, Tourist Guide Registration and other avenues and policies of the Union and UT Government and Tourism Department.
Similar programmes were organised at Gool and Bhalair and interactions were held with local stakeholders and PRIs.
Pertinent to mention here that Basantgarh, Dudu, Nathatop, Ukhral, Pogal-Paristan, Gool and Bhaglair are some of the offbeat Tourist Destinations notified by the UT Government.
Sarmad Hafeez, Secretary to the Government, Tourism Department has directed the officers to visit tourist destinations of the UT with special focus on offbeat Tourist Destinations, have meetings with PRIs, Stakeholders and others, make them aware about the various schemes of the UT Government and Tourism Department, identify new and virgin Tourist destinations and identify new trekking routes and explore all possibilities for promotion of adventure tourism.
