Jan Aushadhi shop opened in Reasi

REASI, Mar 9: Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu & Kashmir has opened another ‘Jan Aushadhi’ shop in the State, which was inaugurated by a beneficiary in the premises of District Hospital Reasi in presence of General Secretary, IRCS JK and Deputy Commissioner Reasi.
The store is being managed by the Red Cross Society. The store has also been directly connected with BPPI- the coordinating body of PSUs for implementation of Jan Aushadhi project. Unbranded versions of generic medicines are being sold at these stores for the benefit of patients who have been paying high rates for branded products of same chemical composition.
IRCS general secretary, Roma Wani informed that the store has 56 types of generic medicines with which all common ailments can be cured. She said that making Jan Aushadhi Reasi online with BPPI and Red Cross, will help to conduct online monitoring of the daily sales and purchases. It has been planned to open ‘Jan Aushadhi’ shops at all district hospitals and medical college hospital campus of the State, she said adding that efforts were on to open up a ‘Jan Aushadhi’ store in the GMC Jammu and District Hospital Pulwama in near future.
On the occasion, District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary and Roma Wani also interacted with the people.
Medical Superintendent of District Hospital, Reasi, Dr Sani assured the people that the doctors will prescribe generic drugs which would be available in new ‘Jan Aushadhi’ store.
