Poonch, June 3: Provincial Youth National Conference, president Jammu Ajaz Jan has expressed concern over prolonged delay in deputing a specialist for manning CT scan machine in District Hospital, Poonch, lying non-functional since 2014.
“This is causing enormous problems to patients and reportedly several deaths have taken place due to lack of diagnostic facilities”, Jan said while addressing workers at Khari Karmara in Poonch today.
The health sector, he said, has been in disarray for the past two years with PDP-BJP coalition partners playing politics even in the matters of immense public importance. He cautioned that delay in posting radiologist and specialized doctors in the District Hospital, Poonch will aggravate problems of the people, who are either referred to Jammu based hospital or to private clinics.
“Better health services being fundamental right of the people, the Government must accord top priority in improving facilities and strengthening manpower”, Jan added.
