Janipur residents protest against poor water supply

JAMMU, July 16: Residents of Janipur here today staged a protest demonstration in front of the office of Chief Engineer Public Health Engineering (PHE) at B.C Road against poor water supply.
The protest was led by Subash Sharma, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor of Ward no. 36 and the protesters raised slogans against PHE Department for ignoring their repeated requests of proper water supply.
Speaking on the occasion Sharma said that water supply in Ward no. 36 and its adjoining areas was not proper for the last two years.
“We also visited every concerned officer of PHE with the issue but nothing fruitful emerged,” the JMC Councillor said adding that he contacted PHE officials several times for replacing the damaged water pipes in the area but even after several months the damaged pipeline is yet to be repaired or replaced.
Jyoti Rani, president Janipur Mandal said, the repeated requests to PHE Officers to address the issue has yielded no result.
She asked the administration to solve the drinking water problem without any further delay so that the locals may heave a sigh of relief.
