JAMMU, Nov 10: National Legal Services Day and Commendation Ceremony of Best District Legal Services Authority and Best Para Legal Volunteer at Regional and National levels was organized by NALSA under the directions of Justice T S Thakur, Executive Chairman NALSA at DRDO Bhawan, New Delhi.
The awards for Best DLSA and Best PLV at Regional Level and National Level were given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Jannak Singh, PLV of DLSA Reasi of J&K State who was earlier recommended by J&K SLSA under the patronage of Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar, Chief Justice and Patron-in-Chief of J&K SLSA and guidance of Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir Executive Chairman J&K SLSA for National Award was declared as Best PLV of Northern Region and awarded the prize by the Prime Minister.
The award was presented in the presence of DV Sadhananda Gowda, Union Law Minister, Justice TS Thakur Executive Chairman NALSA, Justice Anil Dave Chairman Supreme Court Legal Services Committee, Judges of Supreme Court and Delhi High Court, Executive Chairpersons and Member Secretaries of State Legal Services Authorities and Secretaries of Government of India, said R N Watal, District and Sessions Judge in a handout issued today.
