Jasrotia kick starts developmental works

KATHUA, Feb 20: Taking further the development activities in Kathua Constituency, BJP MLA from Kathua, Rajiv Jasrotia today inaugurated the work for the construction of lanes and drains at Lower Nagrota and Budhi which will be constructed at the estimated cost of Rs 15 lakh. He also laid foundation stone of mini play ground at village Budhi which will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs15 lakh. On the mini playground Rs 5 lakh will be spent from the MLA’s CDF and Rs 10 lacs under MANREGA.
The locals expressed their gratitude to MLA for taking up this work on priority. Mr Jasrotia said that there are comprehensive plans under PHE, PDD, R&B, Education, ERA and Health sectors to meet the developmental aspirations of the people of the Kathua Constituency. He said this while interacting with the people during his visit to the area. He assured the people that all their genuine demands and development needs would be fulfilled in a phased manner, adding that there was no constraint of funds in providing adequate basic amenities to the people of constituency.
Highlighting the achievements in the Kathua Constituency, he said that several exemplary measures have been taken to improve the living standard of the people in the Constituency, adding that for this purpose Central Government has provided liberal funding under various developmental sectors for developing every corner with improved basic amenities. He said provision for adequate drinking, water facilities, improved power, medicare facilities, quality education and infrastructural facilities to the students besides better lanes and drains are being paid first attention.
While addressing the gathering, MLA said that people of the area should personally monitor the quality of ongoing developmental works in their respective areas, so that their involvement in developmental activities can build up the force of co-operation between government and public in order to improve the development tempo and taking it to new heights. He  said that with the start of these works, the long pending demands of the people have been redressed and the concerned department looking after the construction works will complete it in a stipulated period of time.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion include, Roshan Sharma, Kulwant Singh, Kandi Mandal Pardan, Anil Sharma, Sarpanch Kumar Manglam, Niku, Ashwani Sharma beside villagers in large number.
