BJP spokesperson Abhijeet Jasrotia, addressing a press conference, here accused the Congress of stooping to dangerous levels of deception, attempting to mislead the people of Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the Assembly elections.
Jasrotia was accompanied by BJP spokespersons Gen (retd) Rakesh Sharma and Y V Sharma besides BJP media Incharge, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra in the press conference.
Jasrotia didn’t mince words, saying, “The Congress’s charge sheet is nothing more than a pathetic, desperate attempt by a party with no credibility left. This document is riddled with lies, devoid of facts, and a cynical ploy to cover up their historical failures. Congress has nothing to offer, no vision, and no solutions—just empty rhetoric designed to confuse the public.”
He lambasted the Congress-NC alliance, saying, “These are the very people responsible for decades of suffering in Jammu and Kashmir. Jasrotia further tore into the Congress, declaring, “It’s laughable that a party plagued by scandals, where its leaders are out on bail, has the audacity to question the BJP. They are morally bankrupt, and their entire strategy revolves around lies and deceit because they know they can’t compete with the BJP’s record of development and peace.”
In a significant escalation, Jasrotia also demanded that Sajjad Kichloo, the former Home Minister of J&K, be barred from contesting in the upcoming elections. “ Kichloo has been indicted by the Justice RC Gandhi Commission for his role in the 2013 Kishtwar riots, a report that was shamefully kept hidden from the public. How can someone with such a tarnished record, responsible for violence and communal unrest, be allowed to stand for public office again? This is not just a political issue—it’s a matter of justice.”
The BJP spokesperson said that the Congress’s scare tactics will fail miserably. “The people of Jammu and Kashmir are not blind. They remember who betrayed them for decades and who brought progress. Congress can peddle all the lies they want, but the truth is clear; their time is over.”
