Jat leaders visit border migrants’ camps

JAMMU, Oct 16: Ch Manmohan Singh, president, All India Jat Mahasabha, J&K along with the other Jat leaders visited the border migrant camps in Higher Secondary School, Dablehar, Government Girls High School, Dablehar, Migrants camp, Salehar and Deoli Bishnah, where people from border villages of Treva, Kotla, Nikowal, Jabowal, Sardari, Sai Khurd, Panj Garien, Sherachak and Arnia have migrated.
Ch Singh had a long discussion with the migrants. They told him that they did not have any warm clothing with them and weather has recently turned very chilly from past few days. Moreover the ZEO has ordered the schools to reopen tomorrow, and when this happens they will not have any other place to go.
Ch Manmohan called on DC Jammu, Ajit Sahu and requested him to provide these migrants with blankets and other urgently needs items. DC, Jammu assured Choudhary that tents and alternate arrangement for migrants will be done without delay.
Mr Singh also assured the migrants for providing them special package of RBA from Government. Mr Singh requested the Government to provide medical facility to these camps and also to grant these people exemption from their electricity bills which is a burden on them.
Mr Singh asked the ministers to raise their issues for one time settlement of refugees proposal to Centre for Government funding, in the coming Cabinet meeting and get some conclusive results.
Other Jat leaders who accompanied were Ch Sham Lal, Ch Rashpal, Ch Dev Raj, Ch Baldev Raj, Balbir Singh and Ch Roshan Singh.
