Jat Mahasabha demands relief for firing victims

JAMMU, Oct 4: All J&K Jat Mahasabha has demanded relief for the Pakistani firing victims residing in border area of Jammu region and their free treatment in Army hospitals.
In a `Jat sammelan’ held here today under the leadership of Ch Manmohan Singh (Former JMC Mayor), president All India Jat Mahasabha, J&K, various speakers including Jat leaders, Sarpanchs and Naib Sarpanchs raised the issues strongly. Some of them belonged to Mendhar, Poonch, Rajouri and even Kathua areas.
During the rally, various problems which are being faced by the border people and Jat community were discussed. Muslims Jat Sarpanchs/ leaders also spoke on burning issues and assured to extend full support for the community in future also.
While speaking on the occasion, Ch Manmohan Singh urged upon the Government to cover border people, their cattle and crops under insurance  in view of frequent Pakistani firing; provide immediate treatment to the injured people in the Army hospitals/ private hospitals having all sorts of facilities available on Govt expenses and provide immediate relief to the tune of Rs 50,000 in case of milch animals getting killed in the firing / seriously injured in firing.
Ch Manmohan further demanded ex-gratia amounting to Rs 10 lakh in case of death of any villager in Pak firing and Rs 5 lakh to the people who get injured and become over 80 % disabled; Govt job to one person of the family who loses life or becomes permanently disabled; free education to the kids of persons killed / permanent disabled due to firing etc. He also sought suitable compensation for the families whose land is located on or across the fence for the last 13 years and above, shifting of fence to zero line and cover people under RBA category to those residing within 8 Km from the border.
