Jat Sabha celebrates Jayanti of Ch Charan Singh, Maharaja Suraj Mal

JAMMU, Dec 23: The Jayanti of former Prime Minister, Ch Charan Singh and  Maharaja Suraj Mal was celebrated with full enthusiasm and charm by the state Jat Kalyan Sabha at a function at Gajansoo near here today.
A large number of people of Jat community attnedced the function.
During the function the state president of the Sabha Ch. Kamal Singh got seven resolutions for the betterment of the community passed. The speakers stressed on construction of Jat Bhawan in Jammu so that the social and religious get-togethers  of the community can be held there from time to time. Besides the people of the community visiting from far -flung areas to city will get a facility to take shelter there.
They warned that in case the members of Jat community were not given the reservation in jobs entire Samaj will come to streets. The speakers also expressed their serious concern over the attitude of Central and state governments towards the Jat community. They said the Jat Samaj in the state has now awakened and it will soon chalk out a strategy to be adopted to launch struggle for reservations.
The speakers said the demands of 1947, 1965 and 1971 refugees were never taken into right perspective. The Sabha leaders resolved to struggle for the rights of the community.
They demanded that Maharaja Suraj Mal be given due place in history as a great warrior. On the occasion the meritorious children of the community and 150 activists of the community were felicitated with Jat Rattan awards.
