Rajouri, June 26 : Chairman Block Development Council Koteranka, Rajouri, Javed Iqbal Choudhary has appealed the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary Arun Mehta and Secretary Jal Shakti M Raju to do justice with the Need Based Workers (NBWs) of the Public Health Engineering department in district Rajouri.
Expressing serious concern about the future of young people who have been left in the middle of nowhere by policy paralysis of the previous regimes, Choudhary said that as many as 707 Need Based Workers engaged in the Public Health Engineering Department are currently running from pillar to post for justice but no one is listening to them. He said that at different occasions authorities engaged Need Based Workers at a consolidated wage of Rs 6700 per month and many of them were regularized over a period of time.
After having met with the these Workers, Choudhary said that these Workers were getting their proper emoluments through online mode after proper verification of their identities, but salaries in case of many started getting stopped at different points over the past few years and currently the number of those who have no clear idea of their future is 707 in district Rajouri alone. Around 250 of the total 707 who are neither getting salaries nor concrete answer from the authorities are in the Koteranka block alone. They have made a number of representations but have not been given any advice by the authorities.
The BDC chairman appealed the government to obtain a detailed report from the concerned about whole process of hiring and sudden retrenchment. He said that hundreds have been regularized on pick and choose basis while several hundreds have been left without any reason.
Seeking personal intervention of the Lieutenant Governor, the BDC Chairman Koteranka appealed for release of the pending salary of the Need Based Workers of district Rajouri.
