Javed Mustafa warns land grabbers

SRINAGAR, July 6: Minister for Revenue, Javed Mustafa Mir in a warning to land grabbers has said that the Government won’t allow anybody to encroach and forcefully occupy public or private properties. He said whosoever is involved in this illegal practice, including revenue officials, will be punished for their wrongdoings.
Giving details of a case of Chowgam in Kulgam district in which one Mohammad Saleem Ganai has occupied the land of Vijay Raina, the Minister said the culprit has been arrested while police is looking for others involved in the case.
He said the accused has managed to prepare fake documents of the encroached land. He said concerned Naib Tehsildar and Patwari have been kept under suspension while ACR Kulgam has been asked to conduct inquiry in the case and submit his report within one month. He said an FIR has also been lodged in Police Station Qazigund against the accused person, who is now behind the bars.
The Minister said that Government, immediately after taking over, has taken these issues very seriously and encroachers have been not only warned time and again, but punished as well. He said the process will continue till the last inch of land is retrieved back from the grabbers. He said Government will deal with such elements with heavy hand.
Javed Mustafa said that all the Deputy Commissioners have already been instructed to deal firmly with those indulging in such crimes so that nobody can succeed in occupying illegally migrant properties or State land.
