Jawan hurt in mine blast

POONCH, June 7: A foot of an Army jawan was blown up in a powerful mine blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jhullas area of Poonch this morning.
Official sources said that mishap took place when Sepoy Kailash Chand was on routine patrol near Salotri forward area, falling under Jhullas. He mistakenly over stepped a land mine which blasted with big bang and caused extensive damage to his foot and leg.
The jawan was rushed to Poonch Army hospital and after initial treatment, airlifted to Command Hospital, Udhampur. He has almost lost his foot in the mishap, the sources added.
