Jawan injured in Pak firing on LoC

JAMMU : An Army jawan was reportedly injured as Pakistan troops yet again violated the truce and fired heavily on Indian posts along the Line of Control in Pallanwala Sector of this winter capital of the state today.
“Pakistan troops this morning at around 0330 hrs fired heavily with mortars and automatic weapons at forward Indian posts in Pallanwala Sector of Akhnoor,” official sources here said.
One of the jawans identified as Amit Singh of 28 Rajput Rifle got injured in the firing.
“The jawan had received injuries in his hand and was shifted to the Jammu Military Hospital,” sources told.
The Army and police, however, remained tight-lipped over the injury to the jawan.
Pakistan also fired late last night in Pallanwala Sector at forward Bhadwal area.
The firing started at around 2230 hrs and lasted for an hour.
Meanwhile, Army and police had launched searches in Manjakote sector of Rajouri district following inputs that two groups of militants might have infiltrated into the Indian Territory from Tarkundi forests on the intervening night of August 27 and 28. (AGENCIES)
