RAJOURI, Dec 14: An Army jawan committed suicide by using his service rifle in Nowshera area of district Rajouri last night.
A senior police official said that L/Nk Ajinder Kumar Thumba of 2 Mahar Regiment allegedly fired three bullets from his Insas rifle at his own chest at the unit in Narian area of Nowshera at around 10.45 pm. The soldier was rushed to nearby Army hospital where he was declared as dead.
He had returned after availing leave from home in Merrut (UP). His body was shifted to Nowshera hospital for postmortem and later sent to his home town in Utter Pradesh. The police was investigating.
