JAMMU, Aug 20: An Army jawan was critically injured when he allegedly shot himself with his service rifle inside transit camp in this winter capital of the State.
“A jawan identified as Manik Kum of 36 Rashtriya Rifles this morning shot himself with a service rifle at 213 Transit Camp at Panama Chowk,” police sources here said.
They said the bullet hit his throat, adding, “He was rushed to the Military Hospital, Satwari and his condition was stated to be critical.”
Police have registered a case and started the investigation.
