JAMMU, May 19: Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, Jayesh Gupta has expressed concern over the issue of Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) aspirants and sought justice for them.
Addressing a press conference here today, Gupta said that since 2020, around 6000 aspirants of F&ES have been demonstrating both in Jammu as well as in Srinagar seeking justice.
He said that after continuous protest by F&ES aspirants over alleged irregularities in the recruitment process, a 3-member enquiry committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) R.K Goyal was constituted in December 2022 to probe the alleged wrongdoings in the recruitment process.
“The committee had to submit its report within a month but even after 16 months, the report of the committee has not been made public,” Gupta maintained urging the LG administration to make public the report submitted by the enquiry committee and give justice to F&ES aspirants by putting the wrong doers behind the bars as they have ruined the career of many innocent youth.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives of F&ES aspirants said that nepotism was involved in making selection for the posts in F&ES Department.
They said if the report is not made public within 10 days then they will start aggressive protests.
