DODA, July 2: A JCB machine and a tractor trolley were seized for illegally extracting minor minerals from Bisran nallah at Gandoh.
SDM Gandoh Pritam Lal Thapa during his surprise visit to the area observed that a JCB machine and some tractor trolleys were illegally extracting minor minerals from Bisran nallah on large scale without any permission from Mining and Geology Department.
He reached the spot and directed SHO Gandoh and Naib-Tehsildar Changa to seize the JCB machine and the tractor trolley and also to keep strict vigil on illegal mining.
Thapa also directed District Mining Officer, Doda to initiate proceedings under Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 against the culprits.
