RAMBAN, Oct 30: A JCB operator died when a landslide hit the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway resulting in its closure for few hours here today.
As per police sources, the landslide on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway highway at Digdool on Monday night resulted in closure of the highway for traffic, they said.
While men and machines were pressed into service to clear the highway of the landslide, another landslide hit the area trapping a JCB under it.
JCB operator identified as Jamsheed (23), son of Ghulam Qadir of District Doda died in the landslide.
The highway was cleared for traffic after couple of hours.
A case under FIR Number 176/18 under section 336 and 304-A RPC has been registered against Contractor Company at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
