JCC asks Govt to settle power crisis of Jagti camp

JAMMU, Apr 20: Jagti Core Committee (JCC) has urged the Government to constitute a Committee that will sit with the representatives of JCC to sort out the issue amicably created due power curtailment in the Jagti camp.
The Committee made it clear that one sided decision of power agreement was not acceptable to the camp inmates as the same was not taken by considering the economic condition of migrants who are putting in camps for 23 years and who have not come of their own sweet will but forced to flee on gun point.
The JCC which met the Chief Secretary Iqbal Khandey in this regard sought his immediate intervention in settling the power crisis of Jagti camp at an earliest in view of the approaching Summer season.
The delegation which was led by Ramesh Bhat of JCC also submitted a memorandum to Chief Secretary which among other things highlighted the problem of migrant employees. It demanded that the electricity supply be improved in the Jagti and pother camps and there should be no power cuts than routine so that infirm and old people, children and other camp inmates may heave a sigh of relief.
It also demanded that migration period of the employees be treated on duty, displaced employees be given promotion benefits at their present places and the ration cards of their wards be bifurcated.
M L Padru, Sheshnag, Kiran Razdhan, Roshan Lal Raina, M K Yogi and Pinky Bhat were the other members of delegation.
