JCC calls for protest, strike on June 21, 22

JAMMU, June 16: Joint Consultative Committee has announced protest demonstrations at all district headquarters of the State on June 21 and a complete pen down strike besides a march rally towards Raj Bhawan in Srinagar on June 22.
This was announced here today during a joint press conference by JCC senior leaders, including Mohd Gafoor Dar, Kulwant Singh, Amrik Singh, Jaswant Singh, Ravi Singh Bhau and Hari Singh.
“In Jammu city, the employees will assemble in front of the Divisional Commissioner’s office at Panama Chowk where a big demonstration will be held and a memorandum submitted to the Government,” Gafoor Dar said.
The JCC leader appealed the employees to observe Kaam Chod Hartal on June 22 and assemble at Sher-e-Kashmir Park in Srinagar for further march to Raj Bhawan.
Highlighting the demands of employees, such as enhancement of retirement age, regularization policy for daily wagers, removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre and budgetary support to the PSU employees, the JCC leaders accused the Government of backtracking on the agreement reached out with them.
Meanwhile, All Public Sector Employees and Workers Federation Jammu has extended its active support to the JCC strike on June 21, 22.
A general body meeting of the Federation was held under the chairmanship of S Amrik Singh Sasan and Darshan Singh wherein a decision in this regard was taken. Representatives of various PSUs including JKPCC, SRTC, SICOP, SIDCO, J&K Minerals, J&K Handloom, J&K Cements, JKI, J&K Agro, SFC, SC ST OBC Corporation, HPMC, JKTDC, etc participated in the meeting.
