JAMMU, Feb 10: J&K employees Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) geared up its activities in view of its proposed five-day strike programme from February 19 to 23.
During one day session of the Central Committee of the JCC held here today under the chairmanship of Mohd Gafoor Dar here today, the members finalized the campaign programme for the five day employees’ strike in the State. The members present in the meeting discussed and debated the campaign programme of five day strike under the banner of JCC for mobilization of employees of various departments and the Public Sector Undertakings in different districts and tehsils.
The Central Committee members also discussed and debated protest programme and the rallies etc during the five days and also identified some areas and districts to carry out activities of campaign by the trade union leaders. The duties were assigned to the senior members to cover the particular areas and lead the programmes.
It was decided that employees will hold protest rallies on February 19, the first day of the strike. On February 20, 21 and 22, the employees throughout the State would hold gate demonstrations at their respective offices and on February 23 there will be massive provincial level protest rallies at Jammu and Srinagar. Senior JCC leaders will address the rallies and then declare next course of action on the same day.
Senior members of the Central Committee present on the occasion- Jaswant Singh, Ganesh Khajuria, Amrik Singh Arun Moza, Kulwant Singh, Balvinder Singh, Nazir A Moulvi, Rajinder Kumar, Munir Ahmed, Dharminder Singh, Uttam Chand, Satpal, Ravi Singh Bhau, Shahid Hussain and Darshan Sharma issued appeal to the employees to get united and make this five day strike grand success. They alleged that Government has failed to honour its agreement made with the JCC leadership and the employees are being forced to resort to the agitational path.
