JCCI chief takes up Nai Basti traders’ issue with MoS in PMO

JAMMU, Mar 21: Arun Gupta, president Chamber of Commerce & Industry met Dr Jitendra Singh, MoS in Prime Minister’s Office and discussed with him the key issues pertaining to Jammu including the issue of 39 shopkeepers of Nai Basti.
Dr Jitendra Singh immediately talked to the Divisional Commissioner Jammu and asked him to expedite the paper work in this regard so that the shopkeepers of Nai Basti are satisfied.
Arun Gupta also discussed with Dr Jitendra Singh the issues relating to Gun Manufacturers of Jammu and the hoteliers of Patnitop.
JCCI president also discussed with him the issue relating to constructions near Defence establishment and keeping 100 meters vacant from the outer walls of defence establishments as the Defence Minister was not available due to some reasons the Memorandum was forwarded to his ministry for resolving the issues.
Meanwhile, Chamber chief expressed sincere thanks to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for extension of Amnesty Scheme for domestic consumers of Power Development Department which is a welcome step and will help the domestic consumers to clear their power dues.
He further said that we had time and again requested the Government to announce power amnesty scheme for the commercial consumers which is still awaiting. We request that power amnesty for commercial users should also be announced at the earliest.
Gupta also said that we had a number of times discussed with the Government the issue relating to expiry of lease deeds in respect of the properties of Jammu Development Authority, Housing Board and state properties including the properties of the Horticulture Department but the decision in this regard is still awaited. We request the Government to constitute a special committee for framing the policy to finalize the lease deed issue.
