JCCI delegation calls on Vice Chairman JDA

JAMMU, Feb 22: A delegation of office bearers of the Jammu Chamber of Commerce & Industry headed by its president, Arun Gupta called on Bhawani Singh Rakhwal, Vice Chairman of Jammu Development Authority (JDA) and apprised him of the issues of trade and industry fraternity besides general public.
During the meeting, Gupta apprised that since last about two and half decades, the Jammu Development Authority and the J&K Housing Board have not developed /established any commercial area or residential colony due to which there is dearth of both commercial sites as well as the residential colonies in Jammu. He requested that steps should be taken to establish the new commercial area as well as the residential colonies.
Gupta also briefed the VC JDA that inspite of depositing the prescribed fee the lease deeds in respect of shops at Shiv Market, Railway Station have not been executed by JDA since last 15 years. These lease deeds should be executed without any further delay.
Further, some commercial shops in Bahu Plaza area have been allotted to some persons but the possession of said shops has not been given to the concern allottees and no lease deeds have been executed with them. He requested that possession should be given and lease deeds be with the said allottees without any further delay.
Gupta said the Old Bus Stand building has been declared as unsafe and steps should be taken to repair the said building to avoid any untoward incident. He requested that this area of the Bus Stand should be developed into a new multistorey project and the existing shopkeepers / businessman working in the present building may be rehabilitated on the analogy of rehabilitating the shopkeepers of newly constructed/developed multistorey project so that their livelihood is not effected.
JCCI chief briefed the VC that a move was started by the JDA to give free hold rights to the plot holders of Trikuta Nagar Housing Colony but due to some unknown reasons the said move was stalled. The process of free hold rights to the plot holders of Trikuta Nagar Housing Colony should be restarted. The issue of Change of Land Use (CLU) was also discussed in the meeting.
