JAMMU, Oct 25: The Jammu Chamber of Commerce & Industry, organized an interactive meeting with Police Department at Chamber House today wherein Vinod Kumar, SSP Jammu; Chandan Kohli, Dy Secretary in Cabinet Secretariat, New Delhi and Faisal Qureshi, SSP Traffic were present.
Arun Gupta, president JCCI welcomed the dignitaries present in the interactive session and also recalled the services/cooperation of the Police Department especially during the Covid period and Post Covid as well as after the abrogation of Article 370. He said that due to positive role of the Police Department no untoward incident has taken place and the Police Department has eliminated / captured a number of militants and over ground workers of different militants outfits, besides huge quantity of arms and ammunition has been recovered during various operations.
Chamber chief further said that during past sometime the relations between the general public and the Police Department have remained cordial and we hope that this type of relations shall continue in future also.
Gupta also recalled the services rendered by Chandan Kohli, as SSP Jammu and said that during his tenure the crime graph of Jammu has considerably come down and people of Jammu will remember him for his politeness and determined approach in solving the problems. JCCI wishes him all the success on taking over the new assignment.
Chamber president also welcomed Vinod Kumar, on assuming the charge as SSP Jammu and said we are hopeful that the relations between the public and the Police Department shall be strengthened more during his tenure as SSP Jammu.
Gupta also praised the Traffic Police Department for their cooperation with Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the business community and requested not to penalize the innocent Jammuites instead only major violators should be booked/penalized.
While speaking on the occasion Chandan Kohli, thanked the people of Jammu especially JCCI for their wholehearted support and cooperation during his tenure as SSP Jammu. He also said that there can be differences in our actions but ultimately we have work jointly for the betterment of the society.
Faisal Qureshi, assured the Chamber members that he will definitely look into the suggestions made by the Chamber members.
Vinod Kumar, assured the JCCI he will try his best to continue the Police and public relations in a better way.
