JAMMU, Oct 2: Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha (JCMS) and Akhil Bharatiya Mahajan Shiromani Sabha (ABMSS) J&K Zone, paid glowing tribute to Sher-e-Duggar, Lala Hans Raj Mahajan, a great social reformer and an eminent Dogra personality.
In this connection a function was held at Lala Hans Raj Mahajan Park wherein Vedic Havan was performed amidst chanting of mantras. Later, statue of Lala Hans Raj was garlanded by prominent personalities of Mahajan and other communities participating in the function.
Romesh Chander Gupta, President of the Sabha pledged to carry forward the path shown by the great social reformer and lauded his splendid work done for the betterment of mankind irrespective of caste, colour and creed.
Meanwhile, entire team of ABMSS J&K Zone also paid floral tributes to Lala Hans Raj while celebrating his 158th birth anniversary. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Sanjay Mahajan (General Secretary).
Speaking on the occasion, Pratap Gupta, Zonal President J&K Zone, said that the social reformers like Lala Hans Raj Mahajan, leave their footprints in the chapters of history and provide inspiration to the future generations to follow. There are no words to explain the life and contribution of such personalities like Lala ji, he added.
