JCO, porter hurt in mine blasts

POONCH, Nov 17: A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Army and a porter deployed at a forward post in Poonch sector were injured in two separate mine blasts today.
A police spokesman said that Subedar (JCO), Harinder Singh of Bihar Regiment, who was deployed at a forward location near Cheeta Post, lost his foot in a powerful mine explosion at around 5 pm this evening. The JCO was rushed to Poonch Army hospital immediately.
In yet another mine explosion in the same area around 10.30 am today, a porter – Shakeel Ahmed deployed with Army, was seriously injured. The poor villager also lost his foot in the mishap. He has been admitted to Poonch hospital.
