JCO shoots himself dead

SRINAGAR, Feb 28: A day after six Army personnel were killed in a case of fratricide in Central Kashmir district of Ganderbal, a Junior Commissioned Officer of Army this evening shot himself dead inside an Army camp in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Sources said that JCO, Surinder Paul, of 22 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of counter insurgency Kilo Force shot himself dead by his service rifle inside his camp in Dharmuna in district Budgam area this evening.
A resident of Punjab, the JCO was found in a pool of blood after gun shots were heard by his colleagues and was taken to hospital where he was declared dead.
This is the second incident of shooting in two days inside an Army camp in Kashmir. Yesterday a soldier ran amok in an Army camp and shot dead his five colleagues before killing himself in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
