JCS suggests measures for revival of J&K economy

JAMMU, Apr 26: Jammu Civil Society (JCS)’s chairman CA, Pardeep Gandotra today appreciated the Government for abolition of toll post at Lakhanpur, implementation of new domicile policy but cautioned the Government over unlimited delay to introduce much needed industrial policy and investors meet.
The JCS reiterated that Government should take up other issues seriously raised the society in its 20 point memorandum, submitted to LG J&K and Union Home Minister on priority basis for providing much needed relief to masses as the unemployment is at the highest level.
“Although Government has taken good steps for containment of deadly virus,” chairman appreciated and adding that after abrogation of Article 370 and subsequent nationwide lockdown the economy of J&K has reached at its critical level. It suggested the new mantra “Jaan Bhi Jehan Bhi” for revival of J&K UT economy. One of the measures is to open up the economy with caution is work from home.
The JCS also suggested that in orange and green zones restrictions should also be eased out so that there was some relief to people. Government should also support in payment of salaries and wages by medium and small enterprises through ESI. Some sort of interest waiver and tax relief should also be given and 4G services should be restored immediately.
“However, the existing regulations don’t allow office/business from the residential areas. Even in the case of doctors there are restrictions on running clinic from home. Considering this, regulation prohibiting office work from residential area needs to be relaxed. This will encourage everyone to operate to the extent possible from residence,” the society suggested.
