JAMMU, Nov 1: Executive members of Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (TNWS) under the chairmanship of Rajinder Parshad, president TNWS held a meeting to discuss slashing of free hold rights in favour of Trikuta Nagar residents.
Speakers in the meeting resolved to write an open letter to LG Manoj Sinha demanding reducing of rate for free hold rights.
They said that the LG should issue directions to Board of Directors of Housing and Urban Development Department J&K for reviewing the rates of free hold rights in favour of residents of Trikuta Nagar Colony. “The then Advisor K.K Sharma of LG had agreed that the rates should be Rs. one lakh per kanal for free hold rights and issued telephonic directions to the then VC JDA to issue notification in this case at the earliest,” Rajinder Parshad said while speaking in the meeting.
He expressed surprise that for residents of Trikuta Nagar Colony the VC JDA issued notification to pay about Rs. seven lakh to get free hold rights.
President TNWS said: “While the Housing Board is issuing free hold rights to Gandhi Nagar colony residents at no extra cost and to Channi Himmat Housing Colony for Rs. one lakh per kanal, then how can JDA charge so high for free hold rights from Trikuta Nagar residents.”
He also claimed that JDA has done nothing in respect of development since the establishment of Trikuta Nagar Colony in 1971 and has already charged handsome amount at the time of allotments of plots.
Ashok Kumar Arora, S.N Kaul, Vijay Gupta, Dr. T.R Gupta, R.K Kakroo, K.K Mahajan, O.P Sharma, Krishan Gupta, Varinder Kumar Suri and others were also present in the meeting.
