JDA employees to stage 3-day dharna from Aug 8

JAMMU, Aug 5:    To press the authorities for positive consideration of their demands, JDA Employees Union, Jammu  has announced to stage a three-day dharna in front of the office  of JDA Vice-Chairman from August 8.
Decision in this regard was taken during a meeting, held here today under the chairmanship of Ashok Singh Jamwal, president of the Union.
The meet highlighted the demands, which include appointment of beneficiaries of deceased employees of JDA under SRO 43, relaxation in age and  qualification in  case of daily wagers, consolidated and Safai Karamcharies, stoppage of encroachment and demarcation of the land transferred to JDA as per the directions of High Court, repatriation of overstayed officials to their parent departments, stopping of engagement of retired Revenue officials, safeguarding of newly carved out colonies such as Birpur Housing Colony, Gole Gujral Housing Colony and Kot Bhalwal Housing Colony.
The Union also demanded that the order number JDA/Estt/475-96, dated 28-07-2017 should be kept in abeyance and transfer of Tehsildar Headquarter.
The meeting threatened to further intensify the struggle if the authorities do not consider their demands.
