JAMMU, Nov 21: In a major crack down on the violators, the Jammu Development Authority, (JDA) seized around three trucks load material from footpaths and open areas being used illegally by shopkeepers.
The JDA officials assisted by local police, seized material at New Plot wherein one Viney Aggarwal in utter violation of lease deed, had encroached the path and created nuisance by dumping iron materials in un-authorised way.
The Vice Chairman, JDA, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, in a meeting had directed the Khilafwarzi Wing to clear all the sites of JDA from encroachments and allow free passage to the common man in the JDA complexes and shopping malls.
Acting swiftly, the team raided the shopping complex in New Plot and seized around three trucks load material which was being kept illegally without seeking any permission.
In the meanwhile the Vice Chairman JDA reviewed all developmental works of JDA and asked the Engineering Wing to speed up the progress. The status of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji park, flat accommodation at Muthi and River Tawi Front Development Project were also reviewed.
In the meeting, the progress of Habitat Centre and acquisition of land for the oustees at Samba was also discussed wherein VC JDA asked the Collector Land Acquisition, JDA to expedite the land acquisition proceeding for 300 kanals of land at Samba as per the decision of Board of Directors and issue statutory notification within weeks time.
While discussing the progress of work, the Engineering Wing also highlighted the achievements in terms of landscape of JDA parks and gardens. The VC JDA further directed the concerned officers to start the remaining beautification work of fly-overs and bridges on the pattern of Tawi bridge. It has been decided in the meeting to launch a tough operation in the next week against land encroachers’ and violators of lease/rent deeds for effecting recovery of rents.
Those who attended the meeting include, FA&CAO, JDA, Secretary JDA, I/c SE JDA, Executive Engineer Mega Projects, JDA, Executive Engineer JDA Div No. I, Collector Land Acquisition JDA, tehsildars and rent collectors.
