JAMMU, June 15: In order to clear the pending building permission cases, Jammu Development Authority (JDA) held its BOCA meeting today.
The meeting was presided over by Vice Chairman, JDA R K Shavan and attended by all the concerned members of BOCA. Around 12 cases were cleared and remaining deferred owing to certain deficiencies.
The Vice Chairman said that JDA will conduct frequent meetings to clear all pending cases so that public does not suffer. He also issued directions for making people aware of the provisions of New Master Plan 2032 so as to ensure strict compliance.
A threadbare discussion was also held to implement the New Master Plan. It was informed by the Chief Town Planner, JDA that all violations done in the Municipal area require stringent action and the concerned authorities are required to be taken to task.
The Vice Chairman stated that the responsibility to supervise and monitor the work of officials concerning Khilafwarzi and Town Planning in Municipalities and Municipal Corporation pertaining to Master Plan vests with JDA and therefore the concerned cell has to keep a close coordination and liaison with them so that the New Master Plan is enforced strictly.
However, he decided to proceed against the violators who have constructed commercial buildings in utter violation of Master Plan and in nexus with officials. The Vice Chairman took a serious view of absence of officers/officials of Jammu Municipal Corporation in the meeting despite prior information and has urged the Administrative Department to take action against them. The officers of JMC who chose not to attend the meeting included Senior Town Planner, Assistant Commissioner (R) and Chief Khilafwarzi Officer.
It has been decided to lodge FIR against the violators and the officials having facilitated the commercial establishments within Municipal limits in utter violation of Master Plan.
The meeting was attended by Superintending Engineer JDA, Collector Land Acquisition JDA, Secretary JDA, Senior Town Planner JDA, Tehsildar JDA Zone B, Executive Engineer PDD Inspection Divivision, Executive Engineer PHE Divivision I, Executive Engineer PHE Division II, Executive Engineer PHE Rural Division, Executive Engineer Town Drainage and Executive Officers of Bari Brahamana, Ghou Manhasa, Vijaypur and Bishnah Municipalities.
