JDA retrieves 60 Kanals of prime land in Gadigarh

JAMMU, Feb 27: As part of anti-encroachment drive, Jammu Development Authority (JDA) retrieved approximately 60 kanals of prime land in Gadigarh, Tehsil Jammu South, District Jammu.
The land, valued in crores of rupees was unlawfully occupied by encroachers, but the JDA’s swift action has now restored it to its rightful ownership.
In this regard a drive was conducted by Megha Gupta, Tehsildar JDA, with the support of the Naib Tehsildar JDA and the concerned revenue and enforcement field staff.
The drive was carefully monitored by Garbi Rashid, Director of Land Management and carried out under the overall supervision of Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Vice Chairman of the JDA.
The operation also saw the active involvement of the Revenue team from Tehsil Jammu South, working under the supervision of Rafiq A Jaral, SDM Jammu South.
Additionally, a police team led by SHO Satwari provided crucial assistance in the execution of the operation.
During the drive, the illegal structures were dismantled and JDA signboards were installed to demarcate the land. The land’s strategic location and its potential for future development projects make it a significant asset for the region.
The JDA plans to use the reclaimed land in line with its development objectives, which will contribute to the overall growth and prosperity of Jammu South.
The JDA remains committed to taking firm action against land encroachments and will continue its efforts to recover encroached lands.
Authorities have strongly warned the public, particularly habitual offenders, to refrain from engaging in illegal practices of encroaching JDA land.
Legal proceedings, along with the costs of removal, will be pursued against individuals involved in such activities.
