JAMMU, Dec 3: The delegation led by Janata Dal-United (JDU) J&K president, GM Shaheen, met with Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan, here today to discuss pressing public concerns.
During the meeting, Shaheen highlighted several critical issues, including the acute shortage of power supply during the harsh winter months, particularly in rural and remote areas. He urged the LG to closely monitor the situation and ensure adequate measures are implemented to mitigate the hardships faced by residents.
Shaheen also voiced concerns about the lack of tangible development work at the ground level, criticizing what he described as a focus on superficial activities rather than addressing core public grievances. Additionally, he raised the issue of spurious pesticides being sold in the market, calling for strict action against those involved in such practices that harm farmers.
In response, Manoj Sinha assured Shaheen that all necessary arrangements would be made to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the winter season. He also pledged to prioritize rural development projects and expedite their completion. Addressing the issue of fake pesticides, the LG announced the formation of a special team to tackle the problem and promised strict legal action against the culprits.
The meeting underscored the Administration’s commitment to addressing public grievances and enhancing governance at the grassroots level.
