SRINAGAR, May 1: Talking a dig on National conference and PDP for misleading the innocent people of J&K, Janta Dal United JD(U) State president G M Shaheen today expressed serious concern over decision of the Central Government to not file a written response to a Public Interest Litigation filed in the Supreme Court challenging Article 35-A of the Constitution of India when both the mainstream political parties are in power.
Shaheen, while addressing a press conference at party headquarters Rajbagh in Srinagar, said both NC, PDP ruling parties had indirectly facilitated abrogation of special status and they were now talking about defending Article 35-A and 370 just to befool the innocent people of J&K for their vested interests.
Shaheen further said that when PDP headed by former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was heading the State of J&K, she failed to not file a written response to a PIL in the Supreme Court challenging Article 35-A. Similarly, he added, National conference was also working on same line to remain in power by misleading innocent people of the State.
He further said that the people of J&K are ready to give befitting replies to both the mainstream political parties of Kashmir Valley in the upcoming Assembly elections. He added that people are completely satisfied with present dispensation headed by Governor Satya Pal Malik pertaining to development and other related long pending issues and problems of the State.
