RAJOURI, Nov 14: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu arrested three Government employees including a Junior Engineer (JE) for demanding and accepting bribe.
As per sources, ACB Jammu registered a case RC0042019A0008 yesterday against Mushtaq Hussain, son of Atta Mohammad, Gram Rozgar Sahayak (GRS) Adhoc, in the office of Block Development Officer, Moughla Block, Panchayat Jungrial (West), Tehsil-Sunderbani, District Rajouri and Sandeep Singh, son of Jeet Singh, JE (Civil) in the office of Block Development Officer, Moughla Block, Panchayat Jungrial (West), Tehsil-Sunderwani, District- Rajouri under section 120-B of IPC and 7 of PC Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018) on the basis of a complaint against demand of bribe of Rs 80,000 each by the said accused public servants for processing bills submitted by the complainant, for payment.
The complainant is executing various works under various schemes and projects viz MGNREGA, MPLAD etc. in the Moughla Block, District Rajouri.
During investigation, in the late afternoon today, a trap was laid against both the accused public servants and caught red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe from the complainant.
Sources informed that accused Sandeep Singh was caught red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 20,000 as a part payment against total demand of Rs 80,000, whereas, accused Mushtaq Hussain was caught red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 as a part payment against total demand of Rs 80,000.
Meanwhile, ACB Jammu has registered a case RC0042019A0009 yesterday against Ashok Kumar, Accountant in the office of Block Development Officer, Moughla Block, Panchayat- Jungrial (West), Tehsil Sunderwani, District Rajouri under section 7 of PC Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018) on the basis of a complaint against demand of bribe of Rs 2,000 by the said accused public servant for processing bills submitted by the complainant, for payment, sources informed.
The complainant is executing various works under various schemes and projects viz MGNREGA, MPLAD etc in the Moughla Block, District Rajouri.
During investigation, in the late afternoon today, a trap was laid against the accused public servants and caught red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 2,000 from the complainant. Further investigation into the cases is going on.
