JAMMU, July 20: Crime Branch Jammu has registered a case against Junior Engineer of Public Works Department namely Som Nath for preparing a fake and fraudulent message of Deputy Chief Minister to manage transfer.
According to SSP Crime Branch, Mubassir Latifi, a communication bearing No. SEU/camp/2016-17/2810-12 dated 15-07-2016 made by A K Gandotra, Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B) Reasi-Udhampur Circle, together with the communication No. 1245 dated 05.07.2016 of Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Division Udhampur and a photocopy of message, were received in Crime Branch.
It was stated in the communication that Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Division Udhampur had received a fax message in his office purportedly signed by the Deputy Chief Minister regarding transfer and posting of Som Nath Sharma, Junior Engineer from PWD (R&B) Division Udhampur to Sub-Division Majalta.
However, on verification it was found that no such message was issued or faxed by the Deputy Chief Minister.
During the investigation, it was found that a fake and fraudulent message was prepared and faxed deliberately and intentionally by the Junior Engineer, Som Nath Sharma in order to get himself transferred by influencing the senior officers.
“The omissions and commission, therefore, on the part of Som Nath Sharma, JE PWD (R&B) Division Udhampur, prima facie, constitute offences punishable under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468 and 471 RPC”, SSP Crime Branch said, adding a formal case has been registered against the JE.
