JAMMU, Feb 20: Jesus Cares Convent School, Mohalla Khajuria Top Paloura, Jammu celebrated its Annual Day with pomp and show at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, here today.
Rev Ivan Pereira, Bishop of Jammu and Srinagar Diocese was the chief guest on the occasion, while Fr Thomas Niravathu, Principal St Peter’s High School, BC Road, Jammu was the guest of honour.
The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest and other dignitaries, which was followed by a welcome speech by Head Girl Arushi Sharma and Head Boy, Rishaan Gupta. Prayer songs were sung by the children to seek the blessings of the Almighty God.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Renu Anthony highlighted the achievements of the school.
The theme of the Annual Day Function was ‘Patriotism’, which was enacted by the children of Primary Classes.
A very special part of the programme was to honour the most hardworking parents of the school and also Yougal Manhas, SP Jammu, who was awarded as most displined parent of the institution.
Students presented colourful dance performances, which were appreciated by the chief guest and other dignitaries.
